Does a 3D scan automatically define every drawing dimension?
No. A scan records measured geometry, while a drawing makes selected dimensions and documentation decisions explicit. Known dimensions, critical interfaces, datums, tolerances, wear, and intended nominal geometry must be identified before a drawing is prepared.
